It's all but official!

Here is the text of an email I got this morning! )

Woo-Hoo!

By September 15th my life will be almost completely different from what is it today:
1. Beginning September 1, I will be living in a new town for the first time in 15 years and a new house for the first time in almost a decade. Obsessive compulsive that I am, I'm already making a list of things I want/need to do to make my new place "my home".
2. I will (finally) be a graduate student! Now I know that it's very possible I was born to be an academic; to research and teach. I found my tribe and they recognized me and took me in.
3. I am in a relationship where I feel I am not only loved but valued and respected.
4. I might even have a new job. The second interview yesterday went well and they said I am a 'strong candidate' for 1 of the 2 or 3 open spots.

Although all of this fills me with a bit of cautious fear, overall I am filled with joy, excitement and hope. I feel a lot like the 18 year old who left her little hometown at the Jersey Shore where her family had lived for generations to go to college in the "City"; only with more knowledge and a less firm body. (You know something, my family didn't understand why I was living my life my way then and they still don't.)

If I haven't in the past, let me thank you all for sharing in my saga of woe. Your good energy (call it prayers, thoughts, wishes, whatever) surely helped so many of these pieces fall into place. Your friendship and support, expressed here and off-line, has meant more to me then I can ever express. (I hope you all know that I am pulling for all of your endeavors as well.)

Okay, enough of the mush, BLECH!
