I'm working on my magnum opus for one of my classes and my computer, which has been limping along lately and I was hoping would last through the summer, has decided to go from old to slightly broken rather suddenly. Some of the keys have to be pushed a couple of times before it registers the letter on the screen (and of course they are keys that get used a lot like E, T and the Spacebar) *and* the jack that the power brick plugs into on the back seems to be broken or cracked as the lug seems very lose in the socket. That means that when I think my laptop is charging, it's not. Blech. I might have to throw some duct tape on it to keep it stable.

Looks like baby will be getting a new computer sooner rather than later which sucks because I wanted to wait until the fall.

Yay me.

I tend to keep my computer obsessively clean so I think the keys are just giving up the ghost because (a)they are 6 years old, (b) hey get used every day and (c) I hit them like a jackhammer.

I really wanted to wait until Fall to get new one when the prices drop but it looks like that ain't gonna happen.

I set the font color to purple habitually, with a bit of HTML that has become almost automatic for me to type. If you'd rather I didn't, I'll do my best to remember NOT to make it purple, although I may slip occasionally.

If it would help, you can borrow my HP laptop until the fall. It's vintage 2003, slow but very serviceable. :)

Thank you sweetie, it works it just awkward. Nah., I gotta stop begin cheap and spring for a new one; it'll probably be a desktop this time.

I think I'll need to start pricing components sooner rather than later.
