savethewave is spinning 80's-90's retro in New York *this* Friday night, February 23, from 11PM-4AM.

He's at Lucky Cheng's!
(24 First Ave in NYC 212.995.5500) There's no cover or admission, the drink prices are reasonable (by NYC standards)and the place is a lot of fun.

savethewave spins music that you love and remember but don't hear on the radio anymore. The last time he was there the dance floor was filled with people dancing and enjoying the music. For those who don't know, he's been DJing for over 20 years at venues in NYC, NJ and Philly and he knows what to play to get a party rolling and keep it going (ARGH, I rhymed, ECH!)

Upstairs is the "original drag queen restaurant" and drag karaoke.

I'll be there, come for the music, stay to watch me dance. (Heh)

I'm coming in from NJ with the DJ so I should be there about 10, 10:30ish. He doesn't go on until 11, but there's a highly energetic, entertaining burlesque show that goes on before.

I'm not sure where you are in the city, but if you feel up to it, pop into the Voodoo Lounge after 11, I'll be there.
