cinema_babeIn another on-line community I belong to we were asked to share lyrics that had meaning for us. As you can imagine, these dayas are some very emotional ones for me for a million reasons but there was one song that I kept coming back to (and *no* it wasn't John Mayer, lol.) Behind the cut is the post I made to that community....
It's hard for me to pick just one set of lyrics because there are so many that speak to all the different parts of me and elements of my life. A couple of weeks ago, I was all about John Mayer's "Bigger Than My Body" and the imagery of a fledgling or butterfly preparing for its first big flight.
I feel a lot more introspective this week and the lyrics that seem to captivate me are from Blackbird by The Beatles. For me it captures the ethos of "I am damaged but not broken" and that is very much the way I feel these days. I am singing my song as I fly into that dark, black night, singing for all that I am worth and more.
