So I need to get a new pair of glasses. I guess I could just get the lens replaced in my existing glasses but I think I want a new look. Maybe something like this:

Malcolm X Glasses

I've had rimless, I currently wear nerdy black Ray Bans and now I'm thinking of going for the Malcolm X look.

I'm thinking it might be cheaper more economical to buy my glasses online. Has anyone here ever bought glasses online? If so is there a site you would recommend and what is the process. If this idea is not totally crazy what should I know to know to make things go smoothly?

I have ordered from Zenni Optical and always been pleased. Pros: excellent service, decent build quality (especially for what you'll pay), cheap (you can get glasses for <$10), they don't call your doctor to confirm your prescription which is useful for those times when you can't afford an eye test just now. Cons: they have a very wide selection of some things (especially acetate-frame laser-cut ones, some of which are cute and some awful), but not so good in others, you have to measure your own intraocular distance, if your ears are uneven you'll need to get someone to adjust them for you.

A number of my friends have recommended Zenni Optical, if you have a current prescription :)
